Why This Blog? A reason to write…

I enjoy my time with so many of my lady friends. But they share common issues – dating and relationships. I had my own issues with dating and am thankful for the advice I received and lessons learned. Of course, advice alone doesn’t help. I had to make mistakes myself to learn when to avoid them in the future. WordPress and Tumblr blogs demonstrate that there are many others out there with these same issues.

Some people blame the new generation, while others blame technology and the disconnect with in-person interactions. We have forgotten “Romance”; it has become unnecessary. For example, technology (such as Tinder) allows women to quickly scroll through hundreds of pictures for a “date”, find a “sexy” man, sleep with him, and then they become upset that it didn’t lead to a meaningful relationship.

We must re-learn romance; planting that seed of hope that grows into love. Romance creates the mystery in love. Have you ever seen a magic trick? Think about a trick you saw up close. It held your attention and then you were amazed. You wanted to learn the trick because you want to put logic and reason to what you just witnessed. However, if you knew the secret shortcuts, would you be as interested in seeing it again. Would you be as impressed? Then why would you accept a midnight text from someone to “come over”, skipping all the work of creating romance, and then expect any sort of “magic” afterwards.

I am not a great writer. I don’t spit out “do’s and don’ts” well. There enough blogs like that here already. I’ll attempt to tell a story; express an emotion. Many based on true stories of my own or friends but from a different point of view; a “second person” or “you” point of view. Not a writing method usually performed.

True love and romance to exist. I’ve seen it. I’ve felt it. I hope you enjoy and stay entertained

  1. Perfect analogy to a magic trick.. You make a very valid point! Can’t wait to read what you have to say 🙂

  2. I couldn’t agree more. Romance is in fact lost and forgotten, and I am one of the ‘guilty’ putting too much trust on technology these days.

  4. I never want to know how magic tricks are done and I am an old-school romantic — too many Regency romance novels! I can’t wait to read your stories.
